Who We Are

My Story

(Yes, these are my own words!)

Lisa, founder of Midlife AI ๐ŸŒฟ

A couple months ago, I would've never dreamed I would be starting this business. I have been a nurse and educator for almost 20 years. I am a nursing assistant program director for a local college, and I manage busy property rentals for a small family business in Seattle. I have a life with the usual family, drama, fun, difficult things. We have lives that are busy with fun things and stressful things.

Running the business was a painful process that gave me anxiety because it was so tedious with data entry, I did not have formal business management training, and it is not what I wanted to do. I never had formal tech training, and while I had good ideas, I couldn't express them very well with formatting and none of my documents matched the look and vision I had for them.

One day I wrote on a piece of paper, "Have AI run the business." I needed a better way, and I always felt like everything I did was just halfway and could be a lot better. I remembered a friend told me that AI could build me an app to run it for me. The thought stuck with me for a while, and suddenly something clicked a couple months later. I decided that I needed to learn AI and just committed to it. I spent the next weeks learning and developing tools to run my business and to help me in my daily life. What started as a personal dashboard titled "Hello, Gorgeous" turned into something that would change my life.

I have since developed a portfolio of projects that I am using in my daily life to give me back hours that would have been spent on administrative tasks. It's still a work in progress, but I've done great things with tracking payments and deposits, billing my electrical meters for tenants, creating real estate listings, and making financial documents that look really good!

I have a daily personal dashboard that helps me keep track of my goals for scheduling, fitness, language learning, and meditation. My kids think I'm crazy, but I think I'm onto something. I feel like I have wings now, and I'm creating cool stuff that's tailored just for me and my multiple roles.

Using a tool like this starts with learning how to communicate with your AI assistant and developing context for it to work with. You'll need guidance and practice to get good at it. We'll practice with the tools and learn how to prompt your assistant and create personalized apps for you to keep developing after you leave. As you work with the tools, you'll be able to ask questions, and in a small group you'll pick it up quickly. It's a steep learning curve, and I put a lot of time into learning it myself โ€” but that's exactly why I can break it down into simple, manageable steps for you.

This is going to be good.

Xoxo, Lisa
